Toddler Toddle
12noon Monday 14th July 2025

Following the success of the Mothers Union Toddler Toddle last year, they have decided to make it an annual event.

The Toddler Toddle is an opportunity to celebrate helping others less fortunate than ourselves and we hope you will take part with your little one, whether they are toddling or in a pushchair.  It is a wonderful way to connect with each other and help others, while having fun, keeping fit and healthy!

When you arrive at the Toddler Toddle you will be given a passport in which the children will collect their stamps.  Two routes have been devised to allow the older Toddlers to explore more of the churchyard while completing their Toddle and to allow the adults to change it up a bit if they feel their Toddler will be ok.  Each 100m the children will receive a stamp in their passport which will help you to see how far they have walked.

This is a self-guided sponsored event hosted by Flitwick Parish Church.  Please see below for links to sponsor forms, details of paying in methods and our beautifully worded disclaimer.

Mothers' Union (MU) is a worldwide Christian movement working with people of all faiths and none to develop communities, strengthen families and advocate for change. They support various projects around the diocese and monies raised by yoursleves in this Sponsored Toddler Toddle will go towards two of those projects;

AFIA…. Away From It All is a MU Holiday Scheme for diadvantaged families in the UK. Based in St Albans they provide a full weeks holiday to families in need. On average six families annually receive a holiday in a mobile home at Haven Holidays in Caister, they were also provided with  'Fun Passes' to ensure that they felt the same as everyone else there.

Womens Refuges…. At present Mothers Union support four centres; Bedford, Luton; St Albans & Hertsmere and Royston. Mothers Union provide Advent Calendars at Christmas along with Christmas presents for the children. They give Easter Eggs to them as well. For the mums, when moving on to a new home of their own, Mothers Union provide start-up packs consisting of bedding, pots & pans, kettles, toasters, cutlery etc. Over the last few years, they have also paid for coaches enabling them to organise a day trip out, for example to the seaside or paid for an activity day at the refuge when they have visitors for example a magician to entertain the children.

Sponsorship money can be transfered in several ways:

Via Bank Transfer:  Flitwick Parish Church - Sort code: 20-05-74   Ac Number: 40203475  Ref Toddle

Credit/Debit card payment via our sum-up machine in church leaving the payment slip in the wicker basket

Or, you can make a cash payment with your payment slip on the day to one of the Mother's Union representatives

It would be really helpful if you could also notify our treasurer (Peter) of any payments made so he can ensure they are directed to the correct fund.  treasurer@flitwickchurch.org

Thank you for considering taking part in our Toddler Toddle.  It is a wonderful way to help make a difference to the lives of families around the St Albans Diocese.

SAFETY NOTICE:  This is a self-guided event, hosted by Flitwick Church.  The Church has taken steps to check the churchyard for hazards and dangers and will provide a safety breifing at the start of the event but ultimate responsibility for safety remains with the adult parent/carer of the toddler eventering the event.  As such, all children must be accompanied by an adult while completing the Toddler Toddle.  In line with our EcoChurch status, our churchyard has areas of wild growth, within which there are areas of stinging nettles and plants that may cause illness if ingested.  Therefore, please adhere to the tarmac and mown pathways to avoid incident.
