Choir
Come and Sing with us! New members are welcome at any time
The choir sings a variety of traditional church music ranging from plainsong to modern day hymns and songs with opportunities for solo and unaccompanied singing. Members may also experience more challenging repertoire at choral events within the diocese and some sing regularly with the RSCM Area Chamber Choir.
We welcome singers in all voice parts, Boys and girls (aged seven years and upwards), young people and adults.
There is no formal audition, membership is free and all music and robes are provided. Previous choral experience and an ability to read music are not always important. The main requirements are that members have an enthusiasm for singing and a willingness to learn.
Members may follow the RSCM Voice for Life training scheme to develop their vocal skills, their musical understanding and their knowledge of the Christian faith. Medals and coloured ribbons are awarded to mark progress through the different levels.
Our main commitments are:
-
Sunday service singing at 10.30am Parish Communion (not the first Sunday of the month
-
There may be additional services throughout the year and, of course, weddings too!
