What is Messy Church?
Messy Church is held in church and the Chapter House (hall to side of church) on a Saturday afternoon from 3:30-5:30.
We spend the first hour doing craft and activities based on a theme. At 4:30 we gather in the church for a very gentle 20-30 minutes of singing, story, exploration, reflection and more singing. We then say grace together before heading into the Chapter House for a hot meal (pasta, hot dogs, jacket poatatoes, that sort of thing... ) normally just before 5. One of the activities during the first hour is making a pudding so the children tend to eat that after their hot food, although some can't wait that long!
Messy Church is a wonderful introduction to the Christian faith for those who do not belong to a church but want to understand more of who God is and what the Bible actually says. It is a great way to engage in messy play with your children (without the clear up afterwards) and to meet other parents.
