Together Apart for Holy Week
As we have passed through the wilderness of the last few weeks, it has seemed strange that we are approaching the joy of Easter. Unable to walk through Holy Week together, unable to kneel at the foot of the cross in Church, unable to gather in person on Easter Day to meet the risen Lord, this will be unlike any Holy Week we have known.
We will be live-streaming each of the services below. Please do join us if you can. We will be using Facebook for this, but you don't have to have a Facebook account yourself to view it. Just follow the link to our Facebook page and ignore the prompts to log in or sign up if you are not a member. The live stream will be near the top.
In addition to the services below, we will be live-streaming Morning Prayer each weekday morning at 9:00 am
Palm Sunday: 5th April
Worship Together, Apart
10:30 am
We celebrate Jesus' triumphal entrance to Jerusalem at the start of Holy Week, as he was cheered by crowds waving palm leaves. We will use the usual passiontide order of service, up to the peace and the lectionary sheet here.
You are invited to make a ‘Palm’ Cross from paper, leaves, twigs, to take part in a virtual Palm Procession instructions here

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday of Holy Week:
6th , 7th & 8th April
Evening Reflection
7:30 pm
We journey with Jesus and his followers during the key events of Holy Week as he is anointed with oil, teaches in the Temple and eats with his friends.

Maundy Thursday: 9th April
Celebration of the Institution of Holy Communion
7:30 pm
We gather to hear again the words Jesus spoke at the institution of Holy Communion at the Last Supper and His command to serve one another as He washed his disciples’ feet. We will use this service booklet and this lectionary sheet

Good Friday: 10th April
Good Friday Messy Church live-stream
11:00 am
Our Good Friday Messy Church is always hugely popular, as we gather to explore the Easter story, to worship and to enjoy a hot cross bun or two. You can’t come to Messy Church this Friday, so we are going to come to you! We will be live streaming a session on the Flitwick fx Facebook page. Come and join us – why not like the page so you get reminded when it starts and make a watch party with some Messy Church friends?!
After the session you might like to make an Easter garden from whatever you can find in the house, your garden or on your daily walk. We’d love to see some photos when you’ve finished; please post them here. If you’d like to explore the story some more over the long Easter week end, try this scavenger hunt. There are lots of things to find, even in Lockdown, which can help us think about Easter, even though we can’t come to Church!

At the Foot of the Cross
2:30 pm
We will use this order of service.

Easter Sunday: 12th April
Worship Together, Apart
10:30 am
Joy filled worship to celebrate the excitement of the resurrection as we join together, apart, to meet the risen Jesus. We will use this order of service and this lectionary sheet.
