School Assembly Anthems

Saturday 13th September 2025

7pm - 10pm, Flitwick Village Hall

Join us for a night of nostalgia as we remember the good old days when penny sweets cost a penny, going on line was a laundry term and texting was 2 72444666 44466 8884433 333444664337777777!

How to make the most of an 'anthems' night?

Do your research...

If you don't know what to expect at an Anthem's night watch this...

More than a karaoke night, this is a celebration of what connects us ... essentially a childhood of sitting in a musty smelling hall, crossed legged, arms folded and fingers on lips until Mrs Pitts gets behind the piano and plays for her life!

Your school's appointed pianist may not have been called Mrs Pitts but ours is and she can wang out any banger written pre-internet with a moments notice so get your requests in!

Book a table...

Obviously, you can sit on the floor if you want but we would recommend booking a table with a few mates and enjoy the kind of comfort only Kevin, the kid with the ingrown toe nail, was used to.

Pre-booking has now closed but...
Tickets can be purchased on the night for £7, again first drink is included.

This is a fund raising event so we ask that you don't bring your own drinks or snacks but instead peruse the delights of the pop-up bar selling wine, beer and soft drinks, sorry we couldn't source 20/20 or Hooch.

Look sharp...

School uniform attendants will be on hand to ensure blazers and ties are present, skirt lengths are to code and shirts are fully tucked in.

Alternatively, you can dust off those pearls or thrown on the leather elbow patches of your favourite teacher.

There will be a prize for the best dressed table.

Dressing up should be fun and add to the ridiculousness of the night so it is by no means compulsary; dress as you feel comfortable and be respectful of others.

Sing out loud...

This is, without a doubt, the best way to 'do' an athems night.

The sooner you let go and join in, the sooner you will start having fun and the sooner your friends will realise what a legend you are for booking them a ticket.

So, think back, what was that one song that would cause you to raise your hand higher than anyone else had ever raised their hand in assembly history?  What was that one song that you just had to shout out and get picked?

So get a group together, get down to the village hall and sing like you're five years old with no self awareness!
